About Us

Established in 1995, the department was originally called the Oncotherapy Division and Professor Fang-jen Lin served as the director for the first term.  At the initial stage, it possessed two linear accelerators and a CT-simulator. At the end of 2007, it moved to basement 2 of the Cancer Center. Now, owning four linear accelerators, including a helical tomotherapy machine, it has become the largest radiation oncology center in central Taiwan.

As an important member of the hospital's cancer center, the division's three major tasks are to provide advanced clinical services, teaching, and research.

With radiotherapy as the core business, we cooperate with relevant departments to provide integrated cancer diagnosis and treatment services. Moreover, the division is committed to establishing cancer-related medical quality indicators, improving treatment technology and efficiency, planning service networks, and providing professional education and training in an attempt to achieve the established purposes and tasks of the Cancer Control and Prevention Center.

The division comprises specialists, professional technicians, medical physicists, and tumor nurses as a team. With the attention of the hospital and the efforts of our colleagues, we are constantly enhancing the quality and technology of medical care and focusing on the achievements of teaching and services.

The Oncotherapy Division physicians were not only committed to curing cancer patients, but also made great efforts to boost the quality of life of patients, so that the patients could recover from cancer at a physical and psychological level after therapy. Physicians in the Oncotherapy Division must constantly reflect on their successes and failures, and adjusted the treatment strategies of cancer through clinical research results. The purpose of the research was to enhance the treatment outcome and quality of life of patients.
