The Hospital sent a medical team to assist in post-disaster assistance and to offer medical aid for the locals.

With Official launch of the Critical Centre Building, the Emergency room moved from the 1st Medical Building to the Critical Centre Building, with the hospital bed increased to 60 spots. The space was enhanced from 307 ping to 800 ping.

SARS epidemic struck, the Hospital was appointed the “SARS Prevention Medical Resource Integration Command Center of the Central Region”

2001

Typhoon Toraji arrived, the Hospital used the Helicopter to assist in Nantou disaster aid.

1999

1999 Jiji earthquake – Established Emergency Disaster Assistance Medical Team. The Ministry of Health and Welfare assigned the Hospital as emergency medical hospital for the central area medical grid.

Emergency enlargement project started in August and was completed in October 1987, with a total of 45 beds, emergency patients increases with around 120 a day.
