Instructions after Angiography 血管攝影檢查術後須知

2024/8/8
  • Angiography is performed by inserting a needle through the skin from the inguinal area, passing the catheter through the large blood vessel to an appropriate location, and inserting a contrast agent to visualize the blood vessel so that changes in the blood vessel can reveal the lesion.
  • After angiographic examination, the puncture site (groin) is where the great vessels are, which need to be pressed with sand bags to stop bleeding for 8 hours. Patients must stay in bed for 24 hours and never raise their head or bend their knees or sit up to minimize the increase in abdominal pressure.
    • Sand bags are pressurized________before being removed.
    • Stay in bed________before you can get out and about.
  • Patients who do not need to fast for a long time may start to drink water or eat a small amount of liquid food 2 hours after returning to the ward if there is no discomfort after the examination. (You may eat normally if no vomiting occurs after half an hour.)
    • If vomiting occurs, stay under observation for more than 2 hours before drinking or eating. (Please try the boiled water first________)
  • During the 24-hour rest in bed, do not get out of bed and go to the toilet. Instead, use a bedpan or urinal to avoid increasing the chance of bleeding at the puncture site.
  • If the puncture site feels hot and damp, the family members should immediately inspect it. If there is bleeding or cold numbness in the feet, please notify the medical staff immediately for treatment.
  • 24 hours after the examination, please gently tear off the gauze and fixed tape on the groin after wetted with water, otherwise the skin may have rashes, blisters, or even damage.
  • If there is blood stasis on the puncture site (groin) 72 hours after the examination, apply a hot compress to the lesion, about 3 to 4 times a day, each time limited to 15 minutes.
  • Patients undergoing embolization may experience mild abdominal pain and burning on the lesion within 2 to 3 days after the embolization and mild fever within 7 to 10 days.
  • If you feel any discomfort, please feel free to ask the medical staff in the ward or contact the medical staff in this department.
