Purposes and Achievements

Emergency and severe disease and trauma care

The Emergency and trauma center integrates the divisions of Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Thoracic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery, providing immediate rescue operations and intensive care medical services. When serious trauma patients are rushed to the emergency room, "Trauma Blue" is started immediately, and nursing staff offers fast, professional, and high-quality care services.

Child care
(wholeheartedly guarding every hope)
  • Based on the idea of cherishing life with no one left behind, the hospital set up a complete and powerful child care team, and formulated various nursing standards and operating procedures. The value of life lies in full of surprises and never giving up. We create the best medical environment for children, expecting them to grow up safely and healthily under our careful care.
  • The department in 2011 won a bronze in the nursing care category of the national medical quality award for its "first love, no-barrier growth─guarding palm fairies wholeheartedly.”
Comprehensive palliative care
(warmth, company, care)
  • Our team provides services such as outpatient and inpatient care, consultation, shared care, and home care, with five whole cares (whole person, whole family, whole process, whole team, and whole community) as the ideal to achieve comprehensive care. It also combines with various adjuvant therapies to help improve the patient's discomfort.
  • After years of hard work, its efforts are recognized and in 2012 won the national medical quality award for its "comprehensive palliative care team - warmth, company, and care."

Stroke patient care

It provides professional and high-quality stroke care services and develops clinical nursing standards, including nursing assessments, nursing activities, dietary guidance, health education guidance, and rehabilitation guidance. Moreover, it actively carries out the integrated care of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, expecting the patients to recover their independent function of life as soon as possible, and then return to the community and the workplace.

Cardiovascular care

  • The cardiology medical team is actively engaged in cardiovascular invasive examinations and new treatment technologies, such as cardiac catheterization intervention therapy, electrocardiography, mitral stenosis balloon dilatation, and carotid artery stent placement, as well as offers 24-hour emergency catheter interventional treatment for acute myocardial infarction.
  • With excellent cardiology intensive care units (ICUs) and general wards, nursing staff continue to receive professional education and training, and with emphasis on interdisciplinary cooperation, the department gives immediate and professional assessment and care for patients with heart disease.

Renal disease care

In conjunction with the development of the renal medical center, the nephrology division's wards combine with nurse practitioners, dietitians, chronic kidney disease teachers, peritoneum and hemodialysis practitioners for joint care. The team not only has rich experience in kidney biopsies and postoperative care for various dialysis pipelines, and but also is dedicated to kidney care and self-care health education, in order to slow the progression of kidney disease.

Cancer patient care

In response to the patient's mind, body, and spirit problems, and combined with related consultants, the department assists in promoting hospice and palliative shared care for cancer patients to improve the quality of holistic care. Doctors, nurses, and pharmacists have worked together in establishing the mechanism of safe chemotherapeutic drugs administration for patients, and received the national quality award for organizing the "comprehensive hematopoietic stem cell transplantation team" in 2010 and promoting the “innovation of the comprehensive high-quality chemotherapy safety system” in 2011.

Perioperative nursing

Through the process of "patient safety confirmation" for overseeing the operation procedures, the department has launched the projects, such as "improve the preoperative visit rate," "enhance the preoperative time-out implementation rate," and "ameliorate the surgical pathologic specimens’ examination process," for providing safe surgical care. In 2011, it was named an excellent response institution by the Joint Commission of Taiwan (JCT) for “implementing operation safety and gatekeeping.”

Organ transplantation care

Many critically ill patients have been reborn because of organ transplantation. Clinical care quality affects the success rate of organ transplantation. The hospital is committed to the medical and nursing care of organ transplantation, including the transplantation of heart, liver, and kidney. In 2015, 600 liver transplants and 16 heart transplants were performed, with excellent medical results.

Psychiatric care

The department offers services such as outpatient clinics, hospitalization for acute diseases, daytime wards, and home care. Based on humanized care, it fulfills human rights respect, offers professional care by treatment teams, and provides patients with holistic care of mind, body, and soul. In line with its human-centered core value, it advocates caring for the mentally ill in a humanized manner and through the establishment of the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship, constantly displays its enthusiasm and care.

Obstetric care

  • Our team focuses on family-centered care, fulfilling its professional role and committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment, so that every infant and mother can receive affectionate, proper, and warm care.
  • The care team has always passed the appraisal of the "mother- and infant-friendly hospital" with excellent grades and has a good reputation for promoting breast milk. Furthermore, the hospital set up tocolysis demonstration wards, which provides high-risk pregnant women with continuous and high quality care.

Long-term care services

We offer services ranging from prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, support, maintainability, to even sociality. We not only serve patients themselves, but also take into account the needs of the caregivers. We assist patients with chronic diseases and their families with the completion of proper care plans after discharge.

Advanced nursing practice

Advanced nursing practice is mainly for the nursing staff with specialized knowledge and clinical practice ability to offer patients advanced care and consultation with clinical nursing staff nursing on nursing and general medical services. These nursing staff is divided into nurse practitioners (NPs) and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs). The NPs are mainly responsible for medical assistance while the CNSs for the provision of case management or specialist care for specific patients. The department's CNSs cover the wound ostomy team, hospice shared care, discharge preparation services, the tumor case management team, the health education team, and the nursing information management team.
