The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pharmacy has built a comprehensive electronic inspection system and equipment, extending the medical order system to the pharmacy in order to strengthen the audit of the prescription of TCM, and while dispensing, it shows a weight caution for pediatric prescription patients, a drug caution for pregnant women, and a caution for medication overdosage. A special notice of medication use for patients is presented at the end of prescription, the end of packaging, and the end of dispensing. The bar code is used to check the correctness of TCM preparation, packaging, and dispensing, and to avoid dispensing errors through voice prompting drug errors, weight errors, and patient identity errors. The development of the smart medicine packing machine is connected to TCM medical order and pharmacy system, able to record the drugs’ flow direction and notify the expiry date when the drug QR-Code is scanned. In addition, the patient can also use a mobile phone to inquire about the waiting time for medicines/the system’s automatic push notification of getting medicines through comparison and interaction between TCM and Western medicine, and health education notice by employing external cloud medication records. Besides, the mobile phone scanning the medicine bag can check personal medicine information and medication use status.
